Protects against fading, discoloration and photodamage caused by UV light from fluorescent tubes. The UV filter sleeves have virtually the same light transmission in the spectrum of visible light as ordinary window glass. However, they pass virtually no harmful UV light through. 
The filter was made for 1219 mm standard fluorescent tubes, a 610 mm tube requires only half of a filter envelope and a 2438 mm tube needs two shells. 

installation 

The cover is simply hung over the fluorescent tube or pushed over it. The durability is almost unlimited.
