Laurențiu Ruță was an important figure in Romanian experimental photography and process-based art. In his works, light, water, movement and physical transformation are not only subjects, but active image-making forces. His photograms are exceptionally sensitive objects: they preserve traces of experimentation, direct artistic action and the fragile material presence of time.
The exhibition is curated by Székely Sebestyén, co-organised by Galeria Quadro in Cluj-Napoca, and hosted by MNAC. This retrospective presents more than five decades of Ruță’s artistic practice through photograms, installations, video works, objects and documents.
